The Kazakhstan Housing Company JSC (hereinafter – the Company), together with the Asian Development Bank (hereinafter – ADB), discussed the provision of technical assistance for the implementation of an energy-efficient housing project.
ADB’s technical assistance provides the Company with grant funding to develop a standard housing design that incorporates modern energy-saving technologies and measures.
The project is primarily aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions and improving the environmental situation in the country.
It will also help strengthen the capacity for selecting and applying green technologies in the housing sector, taking into account the financial feasibility of projects, the choice of environmentally friendly technologies, and measures to create more sustainable and efficient financing mechanisms.
After the development of the design and estimate documentation, the Company plans to issue green bonds to finance the construction through innovative means and to launch a green mortgage lending program for citizens.
