The Center for Competence and Territorial Development at JSC «Kazakhstan Housing Company» (a subsidiary of JSC «NUH «Baiterek», JSC «KHC») has been established to ensure systematic analysis of urban planning documentation of regional centers. This enables JSC «KHC» to directly determine the potential housing commissioning volume based on design solutions and master plans.
The key mission of the center is to facilitate the development of well-founded and strategically sound decisions in territorial planning, as well as to build a professional community for sharing knowledge, tools, and best practices. The center is actively involved in expert platforms, educational initiatives, forums, and specialized working groups, collaborating with key stakeholders at national and international levels.
One of the main areas of focus for the center is identifying promising territories for renovation. Acting as the project office of JSC «KHC» on renovation issues, the center develops proposals for upgrading the housing stock, based on a comprehensive assessment of the current state of development and its potential.
The center also analyzes possible scenarios for city development, prepares recommendations for Akimats, and serves as an expert platform for forming approaches to sustainable territorial development.
The establishment of this new expert platform is an important step toward the systematic transformation of urban management approaches and the creation of sustainable, balanced, and viable cities in Kazakhstan.
