Kazakhstan Housing Company JSC has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Representative Office of the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) in Kazakhstan and Shar-Kurylys LLP as part of the FELICITY II Program. The document is aimed at implementing a pilot project for the construction of a new residential building that meets German PHI energy efficiency and energy conservation standards.
As part of the cooperation, GIZ will ensure the involvement of experts from the German Energy Agency (dena) for technical support of the development of design estimates for the building's energy concept, as well as the introduction and adaptation of advanced German approaches and technologies in energy-efficient construction. It is worth noting that Dena representatives, together with GIZ, have already conducted a series of seminars for Kazakhstani developers. In turn, Shar-Kurylys LLC plans to invest its own funds in the design and construction of the facility and ensure that the building is put into operation in compliance with national building regulations and energy efficiency standards. It is worth noting that the company has previously constructed a house-building plant, the purpose of which is to create a high-tech production of reinforced concrete structures for large-panel and prefabricated housing construction.
According to Altai Kuzdibayev, Chairman of the Management Board of Kazakhstan Housing Company JSC, the implementation of the pilot project will be an important step in developing a sustainable model of energy-efficient housing construction in Kazakhstan:
"It is fundamentally important for us not only to provide citizens with affordable housing, but also to introduce modern approaches that reduce energy consumption, improve the quality of life and give impetus to the scaling of similar projects throughout the country."
The pilot project results are planned to be used as a basis for the further implementation of energy-efficient and energy-saving residential buildings, as well as for the development of financial and organizational mechanisms in the field of "green" construction.
